The dead bodies of Izdehar Nabil al-Mhanna and Najlaa Abdul Hakim al-Ftieh, two women from Hawayej Boumas’a in western Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was found on December 17, 2022 by local residents on the outskirts of Soor city in the northern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate with signs of torture and gunshot wounds.

The area is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Force (SDF). The Syrian Network for Human Rights has not been able to identify the party responsible for their murder as of this writing, with the controlling forces bearing responsibility for identifying their killers.
