The body of Alaa Ahmad al-Stouf, man from al-Boukamal city in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was found on December 12, 2022, by local residents near a dumpster in al-Tlal area to the southeast of al-Atareb city in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, with gunshot wounds and signs of torture.

The area is under the joint control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham. The Syrian Network for Human Rights has not been able to identify the party responsible for Alaa’s murder as of this writing, with the controlling forces bearing responsibility for identifying his killers.
