Abdul Mu’in Ahmad al-Ghajari, aged 40, from Talbisa city in northern Homs governorate, was shot dead on December 9, 2022, by gunmen we have not been able to identify yet on the Damascus-Aleppo international highway near the bridge leading to Talbisa city, which is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident.

We condemn all acts of killing targeting civilians. We call on the controlling parties to uphold their responsibilities for protecting civilians living in areas under their control, and to launch an investigation into this incident and make its details known to the public. Syria will never have true stability without a true political transition process to implement democracy under a concrete timetable.
