The bodies of two Egyptian girls: Khadija, aged 13, and Hafsa, aged 10, whose surnames we have been unable to determine, were found on November 15, 2022 by locals in the immigrants’ section of al-Hul IDP camp, near al-Hul town, in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, with their wounds indicating that they had been murdered using a sharp instrument.

The camp is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The Syrian Network for Human Rights has not yet been able to determine the party responsible for their killings, while the controlling party bears responsibility for finding their killers.
