Zakariya Ghassan a-Hayyawi, a man with special needs, from al Qouriya city in the eastern suburbs of the governorate, was shot dead on October 30, 2022, in Jarablos city, east of Aleppo governorate. He was hit by two stray bullets amid clashes between gunmen, who are allegedly drug dealers, and Syrian National Army servicemen, (civilian police and criminal division officers).
The city is controlled by the Syrian National Army forces. SNHR has not yet been able to identify the party responsible for his death. The controlling party bears the responsibility for identifying the killers and holding them accountable.
