On October 29, 2022, the SDF used a rocket launcher to bomb the Kuwait al-Rahma IDP camp, a grouping of concrete residential units, located in Jabal al-Ahlam area, in southeast Afrin city, northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate.

One of the rockets hit a residential unit in the centre of the camp, killing one IDP resident, identified as 30-year-old Samira Mohammad al-Hussein Kerzak, and injuring her husband and one of their children, as well as heavily damaging their residence.

SNHR notes that through this attack, the SDF has unequivocally violated Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2254 which call for halting all such indiscriminate attacks.

The SDF has also violated the rules of international humanitarian law on discriminating between civilians and fighters, with such attacks spreading mass fear among civilians.
