Saleh Ismail al-Shakkal, from Khsham in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was shot dead on October 19, 2022, by gunmen who we’ve so far been unable to identify, in the desert of Ezba village in the northern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, which is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights is still trying to reach witnesses to the incident to obtain more details.

We condemn all killings that target civilians, and we call on the controlling force to take responsibility for protecting civilians in its areas, to investigate the incident and reveal its circumstances to public opinion, and there will be no stability in Syria without a real political transition towards democracy and within a specific timetable.
