Five civilians, three of them women, were injured on October 12, 2022, in crossfire during clashes between two affiliated Syrian National Army factions (al Hamza Brigade and Sultan Suleiman Shah Brigade), backed by Hay’at Tahrir al Sham (HTS), and another SNA faction, the Third Corps, near the Deir Ballout and al Muhamadiya camps housing internally displaced peoples (IDPS) close to Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, with the fighting creating a state of panic and terror among the camps’ residents.

SNHR has been unable to identify which party was responsible for wounding the civilians.

SNHR condemns the ongoing clashes between some SNA factions supported by HTS and other SNA factions, and calls for an immediate end to these clashes to guarantee the protection of civilians in these areas, and avoid any further damage to civilian facilities.
