Eisa al Ali, a civilian from al Tabaqa city in the western suburbs of Raqqa governorate was arrested by Syrian Democratic Forces raid on his home in the city on October 11, 2022. He was taken to an undisclosed location.
SNHR notes that the detainee’s family members weren’t informed of his arrest, with the SDF personnel confiscating the detainee’s phone and refusing to allow him to contact any other family members or any lawyers. We fear he may be subjected to torture and go on to be forcibly disappeared, as has happened in the cases of 85% of detainees.
SNHR calls for financial and psychological restitution for all SDF victims and their families, as well as for an end to all arbitrary detentions that spread fear and terror in society and blackmail the families of the detainees and demands that the fate of thousands of individuals forcibly disappeared by the SDF be revealed.
