A motorbike-bomb planted by an unidentified source killed one so-far unidentified civilian and wounded four others, including two children, when it exploded in the Washokani Camp for IDPs west of Hasaka city, on September 12, 2022. The camp is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces.
SNHR is still trying to reach eyewitnesses and survivors of the incident to obtain more details.
SNHR condemns all explosions and other attacks which brutally and arbitrarily target civilians, and calls on the controlling forces to protect civilians in the areas under their control. SNHR also calls on these forces to launch an investigation and reveal its conclusions to the public.
There will be no stability in Syria without a genuine political process moving towards democracy, implemented according to a set timetable.
