A twenty-two-year-old man, Jadou Barkat Ahmad al Qamar, from al Hol county in eastern Hasaka governorate was shot and killed on June 5, 2022 by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel near al Derbasiya city northwest of Hasaka governorate when he attempted to escape towards Turkey’s territory from al Derbasiya city, the SDF handed his body to his family the next day.
SNHR notes that the Syrian Democratic Forces have violated the international human rights law through this killing, and the perpetrators must be held accountable.
