Omar Abdullah Kokash from Termanin village in the north of Idlib governorate was shot and killed on May 10, 2022 by unidentified gunmen in front of his home in the village, which is under the joint control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al Sham.

SNHR is still trying to reach eyewitnesses to obtain more details of the incident.

SNHR condemns all killings of civilians and calls on the controlling forces to assume their responsibility for protecting the civilian population in areas under their control and to launch an investigation into this incident and reveal its conclusions to the public.

There will be no stability in Syria without a genuine political process moving towards democracy, implemented according to a set timetable.
