The bodies of two women, 22-year-old, Salwa Hussein al Atiya and 35-year-old Mariam Hussein al Nour,  were found near the main road in al Shaddadi city in southern Hasaka governorate on April 2, 2022, bearing gunshot wounds.
Al Shaddadi city is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces. SNHR has so far been unable to identify the party responsible for the murder of the two women.

Although the controlling forces in the area bear responsibility for revealing the party responsible for the women’s deaths, these forces haven’t launched any investigation, which indicates they may be involved in this double murder and similar incidents.
