Firas Hasan al Jasem, a nine-year-old boy,  from Ma’dan city east of Raqqa governorate, died on March 25, 2022, at Ya’rub Camp for IDPs northwest of Raqqa city due to extreme cold and lack of medical care at the camp, which is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

SNHR condemns the negligence of the controlling forces and the lack of care for civilians in its areas of control.

SNHR holds the controlling forces accountable for the child’s death, stressing that they must launch an investigation to identify the reasons behind the shortcomings and negligence that led to it, and hold those responsible accountable.
