The body of Saleh Bashir al Abd al Majid from Theyban city in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate was found near the Euphrates River in Theyban city on February 18, 2022. His body bore visible gunshot wounds. We note that Saleh was abducted on February 17, 2022 by unidentified armed individuals in front of some shops in the city’s al Latwa neighborhood.
The city, as at the time of the incident, remains under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces. SNHR was unable to identify the party responsible for the murder as of this writing, with the controlling force being responsible for identifying the perpetrators.
