A four-year-old girl, Rama al Hasan, displaced with her family from Ma’dan Atiq village in the eastern suburbs of Raqqa governorate, who was living with them in Tal al Bay’a Camp for IDPs east of Raqqa city, died on February 12, 2022 as a result of ill health and lack of medical care at the camp, which is under the control of the Syrian Democratic Forces.
SNHR condemns the controlling forces’ negligence and carelessness towards the welfare of the residents of areas under their control, and holds these forces responsible for the incident. An investigation must be launched to identify the reasons behind these shortcomings, and those responsible must be held accountable.
