Mohammad Abeid al Bahlool from al Hesan village east of Aleppo governorate was killed on January 30, 2022, by the explosion of a landmine left by an unidentified party in farmland in al Jat village of Manbej city in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo governorate. The area is under the Syrian Democratic Forces’ control.
SNHR is still trying to reach eyewitnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR calls on the controlling forces to shoulder their responsibility for protecting civilians in areas under their control, to reveal the sites of all buried landmines, and to remove them. We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries resulting from landmine explosions, which will continue to constitute a real threat to people, particularly children, for several years to come.
