A child, Abdul Rahman Ahmad Berrou, from Routaneli which is administratively a part of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, was abducted for conscription on November 16, 2021, by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel in al Ashrafiya neighborhood in Aleppo city in Aleppo city. And taken to one of their military training camps.
SNHR notes that no member of the child’s family was informed of his arrest and conscription as he was prevented from contacting his family, who are not allowed to visit him. SNHR fears that he will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 113 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
