A displaced child from Douma city in Damascus suburbs governorate, named as Tawfiq Mansour al Tellawi, died on October 27, 2021, due to wounds inflicted on October 11, 2021, in the explosion of a car bomb of unknown source in a densely populated area at the entrance of al Hal Market in the center of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, causing a massacre.
The city is controlled by the Syrian National Army while SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
