Child killed by the blast of a landmine of unknown source in E. Deir Ez-Zour governorate on September 27

A 15-year-old child, named as Khader Muhammad al Shlash, from Khsham town in east of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was killed on September 27, 2021, by the blast of a landmine of so-far unknown source near the bank of the Euphrates River in the town which is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces.
SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, to reveal the sites of planted landmines and to remove them. We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries resulting from landmine explosions, which will continue to constitute a real threat to people, particularly children, for several years to come.
