The body of a 45-year-old man, named as Radwan Hannan Abdul Rahim al Omar, was discovered by locals on August 22, 2021, on farmland in Ma’batli town which is administratively a part of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, bearing signs of torture and gunshot wounds.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is controlled by the Syrian National Army. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
