Hay’at Tahrir al Sham arrested nine civilians working in vegetables market in Darat Ezza city in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, all from the city, as they referred to a civilian court in Sarmada city in the northern suburbs of Idlib governorate on July 27, 2021, on the background of refusal the decision issued by the Hay’at Tahrir al Sham’s salvation government to close the city’s market with all were taken to an undisclosed location.
SNHR notes that neither of the detainees’ family members were informed of their arrests, with their phones being confiscated, preventing them from contacting their families. SNHR fears that they will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly ‘disappeared’ like approximately 85 percent of the individuals detained in Syria.
SNHR can confirm that at least 3,585 Syrian citizens are still detained or forcibly disappeared in HTS detention centers.
