A man, named as Ahmad Muhammad a Kurdi al Mteiran, from Jazaret al Bouhamid village which is administratively a part of al Kesra town in the western suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, went missing on the road linking al Kesra town and Jazaret al Bouhamid village on June 29, 2021. On July 17, 2021, local residents discovered his body in the Badiya (desert area) of the town bearing signs of gunshot wounds.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
