The body of 40-year-old refugee Iraqi woman, named as Kefaa al Rashid, who lived in al Hawl IDP Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was discovered by in her tent in Section One of the camp on July 14, 2021, bearing signs of gunshot wounds.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
