The bodies of a 23-year-old woman, named as Ghufran Ahmad al Khalaf, and of her 17-year-old sister, Asmaa, from Aleppo governorate, were discovered on June 28, 2021, in Section Five in al Hawl Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the murder of the two civilians, the area is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
