Syrian regime forces and affiliated militias attacked civilians herding sheep in Maskana Badiya (desert area) near al Matayha village in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo governorate on April 19, 2021, opening fire on them and killing one 15-year-old boy, named as Basel Muhammad Faraj al Aner, while injuring others, and killing 50 head of sheep.
SNHR notes that the Syrian regime forces and affiliated militias have committed another violation of international humanitarian law through this indiscriminate killing, for which the perpetrators must be held accountable.
