The body of a 44-year-old refugee Iraqi civilian, named as Muhammad Fayyad al Saleh, was discovered by local families in Section Two of al Hawl IDP Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate on March 22, 2021 bearing signs of gunshot wounds.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
