A 16-year-old boy from Mazra’et al Hukoumiya village in the northern suburbs of Raqqa governorate, named as Yazan Khalil al Hasan, was conscripted by Syrian Democratic Forces on March 15, 2021, before being enrolled at one of the group’s military training centers in the governorate.
SNHR notes that none of Yazan’s family members were informed of his conscription and he was prevented from contacting his family, who are banned from visiting him. We can confirm that the SDF has conscripted at least 113 children since its establishment, 29 of whom have been killed in fighting on the military fronts.
