The body of a 28-year-old woman, named as Aalaa Hussein, who had been displaced from Aleppo governorate and was living in al Hawl IDP Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was discovered by locals in Section three of the camp on February 19, 2021, bearing signs of gunshot wounds.
SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for her killing. The area is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation, which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
