A 39-old-year man, named as Omar Hussein Muhammad, was killed and 20 other civilians were injured on January 2, 2021, by the explosion of a grenade thrown by a member of the Syrian regime’s National Defense group in the middle of Hasaka city following a quarrel between a member of Syrian regime’s National Defense forces and the regime’s Criminal Security division.
SNHR notes that the Syrian regime forces have committed a violation of international humanitarian law through this indiscriminate killing, for which the perpetrator must be held accountable.
