A girl named as Stira Ahmad Sheikhou, born in 2004, from Qeshla village which is administratively a part of Amouda city in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was abducted by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel for conscription in the village on December 19 as she was attracted via social media. Then, she was taken to a detention center in the governorate.
SNHR notes that no member of the girl’s family was informed of her arrest and she has been prevented from contacting her family, who are not allowed to visit her. SNHR fears that she will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 113 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
