The body of a 33-year-old Iraqi man, named as Ahmad al Hassoun, was discovered bearing signs of gunshot wounds, by local families in Section Three of al Hawl IDP Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate on December 9, 2020.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the killing, the area is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation, which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
