This photo shared online on November 29, 2020, shows the overcrowding of Syrian citizens wishing to travel outside Syria in the main hall of Damascus International Airport, with many ignoring the importance of maintaining social distancing and of wearing masks amid the continuing spread of the COVID-19 pandemic which exposes them to risk of infection.
The Syrian regime has not taken any real and serious steps to facilitate the measures imposed by it to prevent crowding of citizens at airports, which is a blatant violation of precautionary measures introduced to prevent the spread of this disease. This is further evidence that the regime, which is already responsible for the killing of hundreds of thousands of Syrians and the displacement of 12 million more as refugees and IDPs, does not and will not care for its people.
The Syrian regime has failed to stop the spread of COVID-19 pandemic among Syrian citizens, neglecting to implement the precautionary measures stipulated by the World Health Organization.
