Hassan Abdul Aziz al Ajrawi, Arabic teacher, from al Tebni town in the western suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour Governorate. He was arrested by members if the Syrian Democratic forces, on February 2019, near al Baghouz town in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour Governorate. On November 25, 2020, the Syrian Network for Human Rights received information confirming his death due to torture at an SDF detention center in Hasaka Governorate, and we have information confirming that he was in good health at the time of his arrest, which indicate he likely died due to torture.
SNHR notes that about 3,337 Syrian citizens are still detained or forcibly disappeared in the SDF’s detention centers, constituting a grave threat to their wellbeing. SNHR, also notes that 57 Syrian citizens have died due to torture in SDF’s detention centers.
