A girl from Amouda city in the northern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, named as Berfin Kamiran al Omari, born in 2007, was kidnapped for conscription by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel from in front of her family’s home in the city on November 17, 2020, and taken to one of SDF’s detention centers in the governorate.

SNHR notes that no member of the girl’s family was informed of her arrest and she has been prevented from contacting her family, who are not allowed to visit her. SNHR fears that she will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 113 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
