The body of a man named as Khalil Ibrahim Saleh al Kahilat, from al Keshkiya town which is administratively a part of al Sh’aitat area in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour suburbs, was discovered on November 20, 2020, bearing signs of gunshot wounds, by local people in al Refa’i neighborhood in Ghranij city, which is administratively a part of the same area of the governorate. The area is controlled by the SDF, with SNHR so far unable to identify the party responsible for the killing up to the time of writing. The victim had gone missing in Ghranij city on November 2. Although the controlling forces bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not yet launched any investigation into the victim’s death, which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
