Salar Khleif al Khalifah, a child born in 2005, from Seiha village which is administratively a part of al Qameshli city in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was abducted by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel for conscription while he was passing through a checkpoint in al Qahtaniya town in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate on November 7, 2020, and taken to an undisclosed location.
SNHR notes that no member of the child’s family was informed of his arrest and he has been prevented from contacting his family, who are not allowed to visit him. SNHR fears that he will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 86 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
