This photo shows smoke rising over Qastoun village in the western suburbs of Hama governorate as a result of Syrian regime artillery’s shelling of the village which caused severe damage to several residential buildings on October 30, 2020.
SNHR notes that Qastoun is one of the areas included in a ceasefire agreement reached following consultations between the Turkish and Russian presidents, which came into effect on March 6, 2020. Despite this agreement, the Syrian regime forces have not stopped ground attacks on the area, resulting in further displacement amid the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
