Syrian Democratic Forces raided on Ibriha village which is adminstratively a part of al Bseira city in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate on October 20, 2020. SNHR has documented that four civilians, from al Boukamal city in the eastren suburbs of the governorate, were arrested and taken to an undisclosed location.
SNHR notes that no members of detainees’ families were informed of their arrests, and they were prevented from contacting their families. SNHR fears that they will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly ‘disappeared’ like approximately 85 percent of all those detained in Syria.
SNHR notes that approximately 3,337 Syrian citizens are still detained or forcibly disappeared in SDF’s detention centers, constituting a grave threat to their wellbeing given the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
