On October 18, 2020, Syrian regime forces personnel (stationing in areas under its control in the north of Idlib on Aleppo- Damascus International Highway) opened fire on civilian trucks, which were accompanied by Turkish forces, near Saraqeb city in the eastern suburbs of Idlib governorate while they were heading to a Turkish observation point in Morek area in Hama governorate, killing Muhammad Nabil Ma’touq, a truck driver from Ariha city in the southern suburbs of Idlib governorate.
SNHR notes that the Syrian regime forces have committed a violation of international humanitarian law through this indiscriminate killing, for which the perpetrator must be held accountable.
