Unidentified gunmen used IEDs to blow up a gas pipeline linking al Thalja gas station in Markada city in the southern suburbs of Hasaka governorate and al Jabasa gas refinery in al Shaddadi city, also in the governorate’s southern suburbs, on October 1, 2020, severely damaging the pipeline, which was put out of service as a result. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
We condemn the attack on the gas pipeline and call on the Syrian Democratic Forces, who control that area, to carry out an investigation and hold the perpetrators accountable.
