A girl named as Rawan Omran al Alikou is from al Derbasiya city in the northwestern suburbs of Hasaka governorate. Rawan, who was born in 2004, was abducted for conscription by Syrian Democratic Forces on October 8, 2020, in al Qameshli city in the northern suburbs of the governorate, and taken to an undisclosed location.
SNHR notes that no member of the girl’s family was informed of her arrest and she has been prevented from contacting her family, who are not allowed to visit her. SNHR fears that she will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 86 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
