The body of a man named as Ahmad Qasem al Omari, who was amongst those who had previously agreed on a settlement of their status, was discovered by local families in Daraa al Balad area of Daraa city on September 25, 2020, bearing gunshot wounds. The area is controlled by Syrian regime forces. SNHR has so far been unable to identify the party responsible for the killing up to the time of writing. Although the controlling forces bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation into this incident, which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
