A dentist from Saraqib city in the eastern suburbs of Idlib governorate, named as Ammar Muhammad Sheikh Ahmad,  who worked as a coordinator of physical therapy projects for the Hand in Hand relief organization, is among the victims who were killed in a massacre perpetrated using a car bomb of unknown origin, which exploded on the main street near the Dawwar Kawa area in the middle of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate on September 14, 2020. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians in a brutal and indiscriminate manner, and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
