A Turkish employee of the Turkish Red Crescent Society, named as Muhammad Aref Keidiman, was killed and two other staff members from the same organization were injured on September 14, 2020, when unknown gunmen opened fire at the vehicle belonging to the humanitarian organization which they were in whilst it was in the Tal Battal area, which is administratively a part of al Bab city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all attacks which target civilians and all such indiscriminate killings and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control and to conduct investigation and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition toward democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
