The bodies of 18-year-old Mrs. Raw’ah Abboud al Ali, from Aleppo governorate, and the child Abdullah al Reyad and Mrs. Farah Majid al Khalaf, both Iraqi nationals, aged 16 and 23 respectively, were discovered on September 10, 2020, by the Syrian Democratic Forces’ internal security forces in al Hawl IDPs Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate bearing signs of gunshot wounds. The camp is controlled by the SDF, with SNHR so far unable to identify the party responsible for the killing up to the time of writing. Although the controlling forces bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation, which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
