Muhammad Taleb Rahhal, the director of the Taftanaz IDPs Camp, one of the al Salam camps group in Barisha area in the western suburbs of Idlib governorate, was shot dead by unknown gunmen in his home in Baftin village in the western suburbs of the governorate on August 25, 2020. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians in a brutal and indiscriminate manner, and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public.
