A man named as Wael Wasmi al Zaji, who was originally from Wawiya village which is administratively a part of Tal Hmais town in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was shot dead by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel while he was passing through a checkpoint in al Tawil village in northeastern suburbs of the governorate on August 11, 2020.
SNHR notes that Syrian Democratic Forces have committed a violation of international humanitarian law through this indiscriminate killing, for which the perpetrator must be held accountable.
