At least five civilians, including two children, were killed when a car bomb of so far unknown origin exploded in Tal Abyad city in the northern suburbs of Raqqa governorate on July 7, 2020. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.

SNHR condemns all explosions which target civilians for indiscriminate killing and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control and to conduct investigation and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition toward democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
