Ibrahim al Mushref from Raqqa city is an employee with the Raqqa civil council. He was arrested by Syrian Democratic Forces on June 20, 2020 during a raid on his home in the city and taken to an undisclosed location.

SNHR notes that no member of Ibrahim’s family was informed of his arrest, and his phone was taken from him, preventing him from contacting his family. SNHR fears that he will be exposed to torture and ultimately be classified as forcibly disappeared like 85 percent of the detainees arrested by the SDF.

SNHR has documented the continuing detention of about 3,090 Syrian citizens in the SDF’s detention centers, which constitutes a serious threat to their health and wellbeing, especially with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
